BREAKFAST
At the Berry Manor Inn we strive to “wow” our guests with the “Bs” in Bed & Breakfast! We start off the morning with coffee, juice and tea service available in the library by 7 am so the early risers can start on the caffeine intake. We don’t believe in alarm clocks when you are on vacation so we choose to serve our multi-course breakfast anytime between 8 and 9:30 am at individual tables in the main dining room. Feel free to stroll down at 8am or roll out of bed, slip on one of our comfy robes and sit down at 9:30. We serve coffee or tea, assorted juices, a fruit course, homemade bread or pastry, and a main course with meat and an entrée that alternates between “sweet” and “savory”. We post our menu the night before for our guests perusal and encourage our guests to let us know of food preferences, allergies and other dietary issues in advance so that we can prepare a breakfast choice to meet all needs.

GUEST PANTRY

. Treats from the Guest Pantry

We understand that sometimes when you travel you don’t always feel like having dessert at dinnertime or can’t always finish your meal and want to have it later in the day. We provide two guest pantry areas for our guests, one in the main house and one in the carriage house to help meet these needs. Each area has an instant hot water dispenser, glassware, china, cutlery, microwave and full refrigerator and freezer.

GiffordsWe stock the pantry with assorted teas, coffee, sodas, juice, ice, the “World’s Best Vanilla Ice Cream” Maine-made Gifford Ice cream and of course homemade pies made by the Berry Manor Inn Moms recently featured on the Food Network! There is room in the fridge for medicine, special foods, and leftovers or to chill a bottle of your favorite wine.

LOCAL RESTAURANTS

.

Rockland and the midcoast area have an amazing number of really good to great restaurants all which serve some type of seafood and include cuisines such as Italian, Mediterranean, Japanese, Mexican, Southwest, French Bistro, American and of course lobster, lobster, and lobster! Most of our restaurants are relatively small, chef-owned and operated and pride themselves on serving fresh, local and seasonal foods. Sample menus are available to look at and you innkeepers will gladly help you find the right restaurant for your budget, taste and the perfect ambience from an AAA Four-Diamond award winning establishment to a lobster shack on the water!  With over twenty restaurants in Rockland alone and many more in the surrounding area we can’t mention them all but some of our local favorites include:

Primo Restaurant
Primo is rated one of the best restaurants in Maine for people that truly enjoy an epicurean dining experience in a relaxed and definitely Maine atmosphere. The restaurant grows most of their own herbs and greens and was listed by Bon Appetite as the 2008 Top Eco-Friendly Restaurant in the United States. The menu changes nightly depending on what is fresh and includes seafood, fish, pasta and their specialty Pork Saltimbocca. Open for dinner service only May through January – schedule varies by season. Advanced Reservations Required. 207-596-0070

Amalfi On the Water
This restaurant offers spectacular harbor views, indoor dining, deck dining and a raw bar. Their specialties include a mix of Mediterranean cuisine, seafood and steaks. Specialties include lobster, seafood paella, fish stew and a strip steak you can cut with a butter knife. Open for lunch and dinner year round – schedule varies by season. Advanced Reservations suggested. 207-596-0012

Café Miranda
Eclectic doesn’t even describe the breadth of the menu available at this small bistro. The double-sided 8.5” x 14” menu is filled with appetizers and entrees that range from Italian, Thai, Mexican, Armenian, and the all American burger and dogs all cooked in the wood fired brick oven! We recommend getting a bunch of appetizers so you don’t limit your choice to one item. Although they vow never to let a lobster bib into the place they do serve a lobster meal Café Miranda style!  Open year round, seven days a week for dinner and open for Blunch on Sundays. Advanced Reservations required. 207-594-2034

. Meet the Pie Moms
Bobby Flay Video

The "Pie Moms" are a special treat to the Berry Manor guests. They really are the Moms of the Inn's owners! Janet is Mike's mom, and Ally is Cheryl's mom. They are the ones who keep our guest pantry stocked with home made pie.

The Pie Moms have been featured on both local and national television - they even were challenged by TV food star bobby Flay! To see the video of their appearance on the Food Network, click here.
