Heavy on the Arts and Culture
Day One
-
Walk the historic downtown main street and shops on the way to the Farnsworth Art Museum. Take in the largest collection of maine artists. Visit the many unique galleries on Main Street

Have lunch at Rockland Café, Rustica or enjoy a lobster club sandwich at Brass Compass.

Take in the Lighthouse Museum and then following the map your innkeeper gave you visit Owl’s Head light and Marshall Point lighthouse and south to Pemaquid Point.

Enjoy one of our many wonderful restaurants for dinner and perhaps a night cap at the wine bar, In Good Company.
Day Two
-
After Breakfast, on to Gen. Knox Museum for a little history then to the Olson House (part of the Farnsworth Museum) where Andrew Wyeth painted “Christina’s World”.

Late lunch at the Thomaston Café with their homemade soups and breads.

Do a little antiquing, tour any of the three local wineries or visit one of our local artisans and watch them at their craft like Prism Glassblowers, Trillium Soaps, Danica Candleworks, Windsor Chairmakers or Swan's Island Blankets.

Back to rest and dinner at one of our wonderful chef owned restaurants.
Day Three

Breakfast and off to explore Camden village, the auto Drive at Mt. Battie and on to the funky historic town of Belfast with its beautiful architecture, unique stores including the country’s oldest continuously running shoe store and the "Green Store" that has been promoting planetary health since 1993 as "a general store for the 21st century" with products that range from compost toilets to organic underwear. Stop off at Swan’s Island blankets where they make the beautiful blankets in their working studio.

Lunch at Chase’s Daily or Dudley Diner with homemade pies!

Continue driving to Searsport, the self-proclaimed Antiques Capital of Maine and home to the largest collection of sea captain homes and the Penobscot Marine Museum.

Sleep and dream about your return trip some many museums, art galleries and historic sites you haven’t even seen yet…

Continue to follow the Maine Art trail and take a day trip to Brunswick or Waterville
